Professor Lewis is a scientist. His young wife died of a terrible illness long ago. Since then the Professor has been looking for the secret of long life. He reads many books and travels all over the world. One day Professor Lewis and his little daughter Beatrice go to India to meet the oldest man on earth. This man lives in a village in the mountains. On their way to the village, the Professor and Beatrice come to New Delhi. They see an interesting scene there. A man is playing a pipe and a snake in front of him is moving its head from side to side. Beatrice is impressed. The girl wants to to have this pipe. The father buys her the pipe but he doesn't like this idea. He says that snake charming is only a stupid trick. The Professor's opinion changes when he and his daughter witness a strange event.
